  16. ACG in Vietnam Observations NZ teaching techniques & teachers work well in Vietnam Vietnamese students need to retain their special character as Vietnamese citizens (language, culture and history) and we need to work closely with MOET & DOET on all issues.

  17. ACG in Vietnam Observations NZ managed schools in Vietnam give foreign and Vietnamese students a good stairway to further study in NZ and other universities (including foreign universities in Vietnam). NZ universities and institutes of technology could consider applying to teach in Vietnam.

  18. ACG in Vietnam Our Lessons Learn the law on education, human resources, visas, importing of books, IP protection, land & construction, taxation (note that there is no Double Taxation Agreement between NZ and VN). Note the favourable tax incentives in Vietnam. Talk with MOET and DOET to understand what the government requires and what its education plans are and what ‘other country’ education providers are planning.

  19. ACG in Vietnam Our Lessons Get good legal and accounting advice and a good partner in Vietnam who understands the demographics and competition and can obtain licenses. You can’t do it on your own. Learn that Vietnamese have a strong culture and respect it as fast as you can learn about it.
