  2. Introductions ……. Name Occupation An accomplishment!

  3. Group Rules…. Group to decide on rules of engagement for the six weeks Housekeeping Punctuality

  4. E+R=O Event plus response equals outcome

  5. We are going to work on taking more responsibility for our lives, which is the first and most important step towards creating more success in our lives.

  6. What do we need to do? Give up blaming and complaining Giving up excuses

  7. 2+2=4 E+R=O To get five we need to change R to a three, because we can’t change E We can change R by moving away from blaming and complaining and starting to take responsibility for our responses.

  8. 3. Telling the wrong people 4. Avoiding the ‘Yellow alert’? ( lipstick on the collar)

  9. Break up into small groups of 5ish and everyone is to complete the following sentence…keep going for four minutes…. ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!

  10. ‘if I were to take just 10% more responsibility For my happiness, I would…. For my fitness, I would……… Quality of my relationship, I would….. For my day, I would…..

  11. Now, the scary bit, taking action… What makes the difference is not what we know, but what we do So lets commit to taking action on one of these statements each….. drum roll!

  12. Break into pairs…partner A and partner B A asks B the following 8 questions…. Please face your partner No interrupting or offering advice on pain of.. Begin by partner B asking the first question

  13. Questions, questions and more questions….. Name an area of your life that is not working well as you would like it to? How are you creating or allowing this to happen? What are you currently doing, that is working that you could do more of? What are you doing, that is not working, that you need to do less of? What are you not doing, that you could try, to see if it works? What will you commit to as a result of this exercise? By when will you do it? Write it down in your journal…now!

  14. Deciding what you want… Turn to a blank page in your notebook and write down… ‘what I want’…. Write three things you would like to achieve in the following areas over the next twelve months…

  15. Think of three actions for each point…. Financial Career Recreation and free time Physical fitness and health Relationships with family and friends Personal goals ( learning, spiritual growth, personal achievements etc.) Community service, contribution, legacy

  16. Read your list every day before you go to bed and when you wake up every morning

  17. Go back to your partner and you have two minutes to each share what you wrote down

  18. Homework Take action on the things that you wrote down that you are going to do as a result of doing the exercises today. Be prepared to report on one of them at our next session. Take your goals and begin to think about making them specific- how much and by when.
