  1. Asian/Pacific Studies Institute The Asian/Pacific Studies Institute (APSI) is the focal point of research and teaching on the Asian/Pacific region at Duke University. Started in 1981, today APSI has more than 30 full-time faculty members at Duke and 20 affiliated faculty members from regional universities. It is the largest center for research and teaching on East Asia in the Southeast. Outreach Services Duke University As a U.S. Department of Education National Resource Center funded through Title VI, APSI’s outreach program provides cultural resources about China, Japan and Korea to educational institutions, community groups and the general public. These outreach services include programs for educators, school programs and performances, resources about East Asia, public performances, speakers, conferences, exhibitions, film series and a Listserv. http://web.duke.edu/apsi/
