  3. To increase the provision of e-learning in the Diploma of Events (evening/ external class) from 14% to 50% by mid 2011 To utilise Moodle as a core information resource for our students

  4. Methodology … 1 • Intensive small group Moodle training • 1 x Mentor (Julie) • 2 x ‘Students’ • Introduced to alternative methods, software, and tools • Support tailor made to individual’s needs

Methodology … 2 Firstly … • Surveyed participants to gauge knowledge, skills and confidence – or lack of them • Devised individual projects Secondly … • Experimented • Discovered, discarded and discovered more things • Tried and ‘tasted' tools Then …. • Surveyed participants who demonstrated an increase in knowledge, skills and confidence.

  6. What we covered in the Program • Demoodling the moodle • Linking content to images • Using books/webpages • Learning how to add assignments • How to create quizzes • We explored Podcasting, and best places to store audio files,

Learning Journey … So Far So Good … … and yet so far to go • The biggest hurdles: • What we didn’t know • The range and breadth of available resources • Deciding what works in each context • Time to think proactively rather than reactively • Understanding how the student thinks and learns in an ‘e’ environment • Consistent structure … helping us all find our course!
