History of the Organization • The founder of the organization was Richard Pough. • In 1936 he was hired to continue doing his work protecting threatened species because the organization had hired him. • He was like a undertake as a concerned individual which lead him to nature preserves from Florida to Maine and Arizona that was far west. • He died in his home town on Tuesday in Chilmark, Mass and he was 99 years old.
