  2. Chapter 1: Nick Nick is a kid who will get your teachers side tracked easily. He got one of his to teachers to have a beach day and they did. He does stuff to get other people into trouble.

  3. Chapter 2:Mrs.Granger Mrs. Granger is one of the meanest teachers in the 5th grade. She makes you look up 35 words in the dictionary and you have to copy them down for homework!

  4. Chapter 3:The Question Nick asked a question on how the dictionary started just to delay the class. But instead he has to write a report on the dictionary since he asked that question.

  5. Chapter 4:Word Detective Nick had to do a report that was due the next day. He also had to copy all 35 definitions from the dictionary for homework. Nick couldn’t figure out what to write.

  6. Chapter 5: The Report Nick had to do his report. He was nervous to do it in front of the class. So he did the report and it almost took the whole class period. But Mrs. Granger stopped him and she passed out the homework for that night.

  7. Chapter 6:The Big Idea Nick and his friend Janet walked home together one afternoon and as they were walking they found a pen on the street. So Nick picked it up and he took it to school the next day and he said that he found a frindle.

  8. Chapter 7:Word Wars Everybody signed an oath and they had to use the word frindle now and not pen. So Mrs. Granger was getting mad and said that if they keep using the word frindle then they have to stay after school and write. So everybody in the class used it and they had to stay after school.

  9. Chapter 8:Mightier than the Sword The photographer went to the class to take class pictures. The 5th grade pictures were taken last. So when they were about to take the 5th grade class picture, Nick told all the students to bring a frindle and hold it up when the photographer took the shot. The teachers weren’t very happy after that.

  10. Chapter 9:Chess Mrs. Margaret Chatham was the principal for the Lincoln Elementary School. So she wanted to talk to Nick’s parents and she wanted Nick to be there too when se went to talk with them. So around 6:30 she went to Nick’s house and his parents and her talked about the 5th grade class picture. Mrs. Chatham wanted Nick to play chess.

  11. Chapter 10:Freedom of the Press Judy Morgan was a reported for the Westfield Gazette and she came into Nick’s school. Mrs. Granger didn’t really like Ms. Morgan. Judy Morgan asked the students about the word frindle. The class told her and they had a conversation about it. The Westfield Gazette.

  12. Chapter 11:Extra!Extra!Read All About It! The Westfield Gazette was delivered to 12,297 homes post office boxes. Mrs. Granger said something and the reporter put it on the newspaper. Mrs. Chatham is mad at her now because she said all kinds of things about the class.

  13. Chapter 12:Airwaves The Westfield Gazette was published and everybody in the high schools and junior high all have been using the word frindle instead of pen. Nick got to go on television and talk about the frindle. Nick sold frindles for 3 weeks and earned $2,250.

  14. Chapter 13: Ripples The word frindle wasn’t used in Lincoln Elementary anymore. Bud who worked at a factory made frindle baseball caps. 22 people got the job for the factory. Everybody got at least 1 word wrong on their spelling test each week.

  15. Chapter 14:Inside Nick Nick had changed. Mrs. Granger even noticed he changed too. Frindle is used more and more now in the past 10 years.

  16. Chapter 15:And The Winner Is… Nick was a junior in college. Nick’s frindle trust fund had made Nick rich. Nick wrote Mrs. Granger a note and she wrote him a note too. Nick thought that Mrs. Granger really wasn’t that mean after all!
