Sunday 8 July Brisbane - C/church – Methven 3.30 p.m. Meet at Air NZ group check-in counter of the Brisbane International Airport. 6.00 p.m. Depart on flight NZ 804 to Christchurch 11.25 p.m.(local time) Arrive to Christchurch board coach for the Southern Cross Lodge, Methven, stay for 7 nights Tour Itinerary – Day 1

Hutt ski fields On arrival obtain boards, skis, boots, stocks and lift & lesson passes Join ski classes & enjoy a full days skiing Late afternoon – transfer by coach back to the lodge Dinner at the lodge Day 2

A Typical Day • 7.00amwake up • 7.00 - 7.30 shower, dress in ski gear, tidy up rooms • 7.30 - 8.00 breakfast, pocket money, daily notices etc. • 8.00 - 8.15 get ready ski gear, board coach, depart for Mt.Hutt • 8.50 Arrive Mt.Hutt • 8.55 - 4.00 ski lessons/extra private tuition and free skiing/riding etc. Buy Your Own LUNCH • 4.00 - 4.15 meet at the coach, roll call & departure to accommodation • 4.45 - 6.30 free time: spa, watch TV, go town • 6.30 - 7.30 dinner, pocket money • 7.30 - 10.30 watch video of the day’s skiing, organised entertainment (games, quizzes, disco) free time, TV, video, spa etc. • 10.30 -11.00 bed & sleep

  20. You Ski/ride for 7 hours non-stop, for 6 days a week. Fitness = full enjoyment + no injuries Enter some form of fitness program NOW – Focus on leg muscles EXAMPLES: Running up/down hill 20-30 m; - 5x Lateral jumps over a shoe box, feet together - 10x Crouch & 2 extension jumps 8-10x Wall sits for 1-2 minutes Step-ups on a bench/box - 20x Bike riding (hills) or In-line or ice skating 6km Conditioning 2-3 sets, 2-3 times a week = Reasonable preparation for the experience
