Outline of the merged proposal • The existing IEEE802.15.4-2003 868/915 Mhz modes remain mandatory in the standard • Two new optional modes based on channel bandwidth will be defined • 2 MHz 235 kbit/s O-QPSK 16+1chip COBI 15-04-507-04 • 600 kHz 234 kbit/s BPSK/ASK 32-chip PSSS 15-04-121-05 • The modes will be applied based on a channel table for todays regulatory domains • 915 MHz (North America) 2 MHz bandwidth • 868 MHz (Europe) 600 kHz bandwidth • The proposals enables the use of either mode (i.e. 2 MHz or 600 kHz) in new or changed regulatory domains once those become available • Consistent with the discussion in the TG4b task group,backward compatibility to the mandatory 20/40 kbit/s base modesis achieved by switching the Rx / Tx mode in the devices Francois Chin, Liang Li, Clint Powell, Andreas Wolf
