  1. Your Student’s Biology Class By Jerrett Holley

  2. About your students teacher • My name is Jerrett Holley, I am originally from Hamilton, Alabama where I attended high school. • After graduating I attended Athens State University where I completed a bachelors in science with a certification to teach. • I currently teach AP Biology/Antatomy and physiology as well as regular Biology. • I am assistant coach with the 9th grade football team and track team.

  3. How to contact me • You may email me at jholley@madison.k12.al.us • You can call me with any questions at 205-495-0926 • If the schools email does not work for any reason you may email me at jholley11@live.com • I apologize in advance for not being here as I have a football game to coach today.

  4. What you can expect from AP Biology • AP Biology has rigorous coursework requirements and students must stay on top of their studies to succeed. • However in an effort to maintain a positive attitude among students I do allow students to complete test corrections for half credit. • This allows students to experience a college style test, prepare for the AP exam, and still maintain a desired GPA. • Labs are mandatory and should no be missed if possible. • Attendance should always be a priority due to the large amount of information covered in a day. • The AP exam will be in May, students must score a three or higher to receive college credit.

  5. What you can expect from Biology • The goal of regular Biology is prepare students for the Biology portion of the graduation exam. • Students will complete coursework and labs. • Attendance is a priority and should be taken seriously. • This is a blue collar class if students complete the work and study they will not fail.

  6. Grading • In accordance with madison county board policy daily work counts a 40% of a nine weeks grade and test are 60%. • A final is to be given in all classes and count as 15% of the final grade. • There are reduced number of daily grades in AP to better simulate a college course.

  7. Help me contact you • Due to the monetary constraints of the state I could not print a syllabus for each student however will be glad to email it to you. • Just leave your name, you students name, the class he or she is enrolled in, and you email address. • If you do not have an email address call me and I will get you what you need the best way I can.

  8. Thanks • Thanks for being a part of my classroom experience, I apologize for not being here, and I look forward to the journey we will be taking together.
