Resources for Mobile Devices • Preston Medical Library’s Mobile Devices page has a full listing of the databases and other resources that are now available for Mobile Devices: • From Library main page, find Resources by Topic Link, then navigate to Resources for Mobile Devices <http://gsm.utmck.edu/med_library/pda/mobiledevices.cfm>

  4. UpToDate Mobile • Setup: None • From the library site, go to UpToDate, you will be redirected to the mobile version • Access Limitations: • You will need to use the wireless network. • UpToDate Mobile is only available on the UTMC campus.

  8. MDConsult Mobile • Setup: • From your Desktop computer, go to Library site, then MDConsult. • Create an account • Go to MDConsult Mobile page& Log in • Access Limitations: None • With the personal account, you can use it anywhere.

  15. Dynamed: • Setup: • From Desktop, create Skyscape account • Download Skyscape App & Log in • Register Dynamed Serial number • Access Limitations: None

Dynamed: Install Instructions for IPhone / IPod Touch • Search Google or other search engine for Skyscape • Set up a free account on Skyscape (see following slides) • Download the free “Skyscape Medical Resources” app from the App Store. • From Tools tab in Skyscape app, tap Install Resource • Use the Skyscape login you just set up, and input Dynamed Serial number (provided by the library)

Dynamed: Install Instructions for Android Devices • Search Google or other search engine for Skyscape • Set up a free account on Skyscape (see following slides) • Download the free “Skyscape Medical Resources” app from the Android Market • From Tools tab in Skyscape app, tap Install Resource • Use the Skyscape login you just set up, and input Dynamed Serial number (provided by the library) • Click Continue • Place check mark next to Dynamed and Download to SD Memory card. • Launch Skyscape App • Select Dynamed from My Skyscape Home Screen

Dynamed: Install Instructions for Blackberry • Note: it is advisable to use an SD memory card with this resource. • Search Google or other search engine for Skyscape • Set up a free account on Skyscape website (see following slides) • Go to the Skyscape “Blackberry Reader” download page: http://www.skyscape.com/bbreader • Download the Blackberry Reader; once downloaded, it will show up as Skyscape Reader • Launch the Skyscape Reader app • Navigate to Tools, then “Settings” • Go to the Resources tab, change Memory access to “removable memory card” • Navigate to Tools, then “Install Resource” • Log in to Skyscape, and enter your Dynamed Serial Number (provided by the library) • Click next, select the “Dynamed” checkbox, and select “register and download” • Download could take as long as 45 minutes depending on signal strength. • When download finishes, you may launch Dynamed
