  2. California High Biomedical Pathway • We offer 3 PLTW courses: • Principles of Biomedical Science, PBS • Human Body Systems, HBS • Medical Interventions, MI • iQuest (Student internship at local hospital…)

Probes used in the Health Pathway • EKG • Spirometers • Heart Rate • Temperature • Blood Pressure • Oxygen • Carbon Dioxide • Accelerometers • Ultrasound The probe is being used to collect information from the student. Real time data and graphs are displayed on their laptop. Similar probes are used in medical facilities. These students experience hands on learning, job skills, and 21st century technology.

Parent Advisory Board • We are looking for parents working in health care or a related field who are willing to advise students about their career. • Health care professionals willing to speak about their careers during tutorial to our pathway students. • Health care professionals willing to be contacted by a pathway student (email/phone) to ask questions about their particular career. • Health care professionals who are willing to give a guided tour of their facility. • Health care professionals whose job offers volunteer positions for high school students.
