  2. Year 10 • CONGRATULATIONS! • You have completed the French Brevet and are about to complete the ACT Year 10 Certificate • You have earned two credentials: one French and one Australian • Where to now?

  3. What are the options? • ACT Year 12 Certificate • French Baccalauréat (S or L) • International Baccalaureate (Diploma Program)

  4. Some advice • Give some thought to where you would like to study when you complete Year 12 • This should inform your decision-making about which pathway to follow • Choose a Year 12 credential that will help you access your preferred tertiary institution

  5. Some guidelines • In which country do you wish to study after Year 12? Australia, France, elsewhere? • What fields interest you? • What kind of marks do you need in my French studies if I decide to sit for the French Bac? • What ATAR do you need for your preferred course if you are staying in Australia? • What role does bilingualism play in this area? Research, Journalism… • Is cost of tertiary education a factor? If so, what scholarships available?

Allez jusqu’au bout! • You have made a big investment • Your teachers and parents have made a big investment too • Think very carefully before leaving the French stream; once you do so, there is no returning • Don’t be put off by the unknown • Bilingualism and intercultural understanding are valuable professionally
