  2. About the Horizons Program • The Horizons program is a program for students that are creative in class and need a little challenge for themselves like Caesars English and Hands on Equations.

  3. Standards • Self – Directed Learner • Responsible Citizen • Producer of Excellence • Communicate Clearly • Collaborate • Critical Thinking Skills • Logical Problem Solver • Creative Problem Solving Process • Research Skills

  4. Teachers • We have some great teachers they are Mrs Jane Grebe Mrs Lydia Cox and Mrs Marsha Gravitt

  5. Chess Chess is a fun and challenging game that will help you with strategic skills and it helps you know what is happening around you and helps you know your surroundings later in life.

  6. Caesar's English • Caesar’s English is when you learn about basic Latin prefixes and suffixes • Examples Super, Co, Non, Vert, and Inter

  7. Hands on Equations • Hands on Equations is beginners algebra for students that helps them a lot when they get to different grades.

  8. Questions we Asked • We asked our 2nd through 5th grade students about the Horizons and what it means to them. • 1. What does Horizons mean to you? • 2. Does Horizons make you want to work harder or not? • 3.How does Horizons effect your life? • 4. Does Horizons effect your grades? • 5.What is the most fun thing about Horizons?

  9. 2nd Graders • Our 2nd graders said that it is helpful and better for grades. • Our 2nd graders said yes to question 2. • They said that it helps their grades a lot because of Horizons. • Then for question 4 they said you have to study more instead of playing. • Their favorite thing is playing chess and doing activities.

  10. 3rd Grade • Two 3rd graders said that Horizons is a challenge that you need to take. • They said for question 2 that wants to work harder when she gets into Horizons. • They said that Horizons really doesn’t effect your social life that much • They said that Horizons makes your work in class much easier. • They said the most fun thing about Horizons is making books and playing chess.

  11. 4th Grade • Our 4th graders said Horizons is a fun place to learn. • For question 2 they said yes they want to work harder. • They said that Horizons helps with their homework. • They said that you don’t get as much time with their friends. • They said the most fun thing is math and playing chess.

  12. Our Opinion on Horizons • Harrison said That Horizons is a challenge that he loves. • Joshua said that Horizons is challenging as well as fun. • Thomas said that Horizons is a challenge that is also fun and helps your student be responsible. • Ryan said It is a challenge and more work!
