Summary • The Manettes have been living pretty frugally, since they’ve had to pay for all of Charles’ food and lodging in prison. • Miss Pross and Mr. Cruncher had been taking care of the shopping • Miss Pross and Mr. Cruncher head out for their errands • Before they head out, Miss Pross asks Manettes when will they be able to leave • Dr. Manette thinks that they should stay in Paris for a few days, just so that no one gets suspicious.

Summary • Lucie hears footsteps • Dr. Manette thinks that they should stay in Paris for a few days, just so that no one gets suspicious. • The four soldiers ask for Charles, and that he has been denounced by Saint Antoine • Dr. Manette asks who denounced Charles; they answer, the Defarges and one other • The Soldier tells Manette he will be answered tomorrow
