  6. Definition • Cohesion means . . . • The act of uniting or sticking together • In physics, the force that holds together the atoms or molecules in a solid or liquid • Also cohesive, cohesiveness, and cohering

  8. This intermolecular attraction between water molecules is known as COHESION. • Cohesion is why water sticks to itself to form drops. When one water molecule attaches to another it is done by a hydrogen bond. Collectively the hydrogen bonds hold water together.
