  4. “And they said to me, “The survivors who are left from the captivity in the province are there in great distress and reproach. The wall of Jerusalem is also broken down, and its gates are burned with fire.” Nehemiah 1:3

  5. “And I went out by night through the Valley Gate to the Serpent Well and the Refuse Gate, and viewed the walls of Jerusalem which were broken down and its gates which were burned with fire. Then I went on to the Fountain Gate and to the King’s Pool, but there was no room for the animal under me to pass.” Nehemiah 2:13-14

  8. Gate 1: The Sheep Gate

  9. Eliashib the high priest and his fellow priests went to work and rebuilt the Sheep Gate. They dedicated it and set its doors in place, building as far as the Tower of the Hundred, which they dedicated, and as far as the Tower of Hananel. Next to Eliashib the men of Jericho built. And next to them Zaccur the son of Imri built.“ Nehemiah 3:1-2 (NKJV)

  14. The First and Last Gate “And between the upper room at the corner, as far as the Sheep Gate, the goldsmiths and the merchants made repairs.” Nehemiah 3:32
