  1. Count Your Beans! Whole Group Lesson or Guided Instruction: Objective: build tens and ones up to 30. Each student gets a mat to work on. Working with partners or independently each gets their own baggie of numbers from 1-30. Each set was a different color to avoid having children mix them up.

  2. Count Your Beans! • Choose a number card. 2. Count out beans to match your number. • When you get a group of 10 trade it for a stick.
