  2. TERRACED • a raised piece of land with the top leveled off

  3. ANCESTORS • one from whom an individual, group, or species is descended

  4. FATHOMLESS • Incapable of being measured.

  5. ZENITH • the point in the heavens directly overhead; highest point

  6. GRATITUDE • the state of being grateful

  7. PHOSPHORESCENT • a light given off at low temperatures that is caused by the absorption of radiations (as X-rays or ultraviolet light) and continuing for a noticeable time after these radiations have stopped

  8. SHEAVES • a group of things often fastened together and resembling a sheaf of grain

  9. KNOLL • a small round hill

  10. THATCHED • To cover with or as if with thatch

  11. FRAGRANT • having a sweet or agreeable smell

  12. THRESHED • to separate seed from a harvested plant

  13. RUDDY • Reddish in color

  14. COBBLED • to make roughly or hastily -- often used with together or up

  15. LACQUERED • a material like varnish that dries quickly into a shiny layer (as on wood or metal)

  16. HASTE • rapidity of motion or action

  17. REAP • to get as a result <reap the benefit of hard work>

  18. BROAD • having a great distance from side to side; wide.

  19. Heave • lift or haul (a heavy thing) with great effort.

  20. Suave • Smoothly agreeable and courteous.
