  1. SAAM 2013 This year we want every command to feel empowered to approach Sexual Assault Awareness Month in their own way with events and activities. Should you decide or need to use a “training” approach, use these basic slides as a conversation starter after watching each week’s introductory video. SAPR-L and SAPR-F have provided you a wealth of knowledge from which you can now have educated discussions and define your command’s way forward as we all work together to eradicate sexual assault from our Navy.

  2. Courage to Support • …victims of sexual assault are: • 3 times more likely to suffer from depression • 4 times more likely to contemplate suicide • 6 times more likely to suffer from post-traumatic stress disorder • 13 times more likely to abuse alcohol • 26 times more likely to abuse drugs • “Safe Helpline” is just a call, click or text away! Safe Helpline is available for live, one-on-one advice, support, information, and assistance that is anonymous, secure, and available 24/7 at 877-995-5247 (telephone number is the same inside the U.S. or via the DSN) or go to http://SafeHelpline.org for connection to the SARC on your installation or base and other military and civilian resources in your area.

  3. Courage to Support • We will: • Make decisions in the best interest of the Navy and the Nation, without regard to personal consequences. • Hold ourselves to the highest of personal and professional standards of thought and behavior. • Be loyal to our Nation, ensuring the resources entrusted to us are used in an honest, careful, and efficient way. • Meet the demands of our profession and the mission when it is hazardous, demanding , or otherwise difficult. • Reduce the likelihood and acceptance of inappropriate behaviors.
