  1. 10 Easy Ways To Detox Your Liver We’ve all heard of the out-of-this-world liver detoxes on Doctor Oz and on the covers of magazines telling us to starve ourselves for days, only drink green unpasteurized juices, and a slew of other crazy, scientifically baseless things that make good headlines and poor health advice. This blog is meant to clear the air. Because there are do’s and don’ts for taking care of your liver. Your liver is your largest internal organ and it needs to be taken care of. This blog is going to tell you exactly what do to and what to avoid. What Does Our Liver Even Do? – The Three Major Functions Of The Liver The three major functions of the Liver are… 1.Filtration. 2.Digestion. 3.Protein Synthesis Filtration

  2. Your liver filters all of the blood that moves through your body. But your liver goes beyond just simple filtering. Your liver will balance the pH of your blood keeping it at a steady 7.40 and pull all of the harmful toxins out of your blood. But what happens to these toxins? Well, two main things happen… First, your liver will turn the toxin into Urea which then travels to the kidneys to be excreted through your urine. For more complex toxins, your liver will break these down into molecules called free radicals. Free radicals are harmful molecules that come from the breakdown of toxins and from the process of metabolism that we’ll talk about shortly. Make sure to remember and research these pesky free radicals. Free radicals are responsible for the majority of irreparable cell damage within your liver and across your entire body. But don’t you worry, we’re going to be giving you a battle-tested strategy to get rid of these free radicals. To give you an idea of how destructive these molecules are… Your liver is the only organ in the human body that can regenerate itself, and scientists have theorized that the liver adapted this ability due to its constant exposure to these harmful free radicals. So if your liver isn’t performing well, if your liver isn’t healthy, it’s not going to be filtering toxins out of your blood as efficiently. It’s going to be doing the exact opposite… Dumping toxins into your blood. Make sure to read the entire blog to learn how to keep your liver in championship shape. Digestion Your liver creates bile. Bile helps break down fats and carry away waste during the digestion process in the small intestine. The amount of bile released is controlled by the Gall Bladder. The liver also creates cholesterol and specialized proteins meant to help the body absorb these broken-down fats easier. Why is this important? Well, fat is used in the body as the main material in making new cells to replace the cells that are constantly dying off. If your liver isn’t performing in tip-top shape, from a digestive standpoint, you will be absorbing fewer fats and your body won’t have the material it needs to replenish the cells it is losing.

  3. This can make you feel sluggish and unmotivated, as well as making cuts, bruises, and scrapes take considerably longer to heal! So keep that liver healthy! Protein Synthesis The liver is also responsible for making proteins essential in the creation of new red blood cells. At any given time 13% of all the blood in your body is sitting in your liver! Blood is the highway of the body. It’s how we transport literally everything around to our cells, from water to oxygen, to minerals & nutrients. When we’re anemic, meaning we’re low on blood, it causes a wide range of unpleasant symptoms that can all be avoided by simply taking care of our liver! (An unhealthy liver is not the only cause of anemia. This is not a substitute for medical advice if you have anemia, if so, please consult your doctor or physician.) These symptoms are things like…  Fatigue  Weakness  Pale or yellowish skin  Irregular heartbeats  Shortness of breath  Dizziness or lightheadedness  Chest pain  Cold hands and feet  Now you know the stakes. You know exactly the horrible symptoms of not taking care of your liver, so let’s jump into the things you should be avoiding at all costs to keep your liver healthy as a horse! Read More : 10 Health Benefits Of Pine Pollen That You Did Not Know About What Will Harm Your Liver? – Refined Sugars First, let’s clear the air. What the heck is Refind Sugar?? Well here’s a simple way to look at it… There are two types of sugars. Headaches

  4. Natural sugars, which are found in milk, cheese, and fruits. These sugars are good for you! They’re good for you because they’re hard to consume in high amounts due to their naturally low concentration in foods. But natural sugars are also good for you because they come in a package deal with fat and protein in milk and cheese, and with vitamins and fiber in fruits! Now the bad sugar. Refined Sugar. Refined sugar comes from chemically extracting sugar from sugar cane or sugar beets. This is the sugar that’s primarily added to virtually every single pre-packaged food and drink in America. Here’s why it’s bad… First, refined sugar doesn’t come in a package deal. You have an endless supply of foods and soft drinks that have a heap of sugar but don’t carry any nutritional value, they’re empty calories. The second problem is how much sugar is really in the processed foods we eat. One can of Mountain Dew has 46g of sugar in it, that’s equivalent to 30 lemons worth of sugar! In one can! When you slam your liver full of refined sugar it causes deposits of fat to grow on your liver. This slows down your liver’s overall effectiveness. Over long periods of time these excess deposits of fat can begin permanently scarring your liver which can ultimately go so far that you need a liver replacement! The disease for a fatty liver is NAFLD (Non-Alcoholic Fatty Liver Disease) and 15%-20% of Americans suffer from its effects. So do your liver a favor, don’t become a statistic, cut out the sugar.

  5. What Will Harm Your Liver? – Trans & Saturated Fats If you didn’t learn from the section above, fat is the ultimate enemy of your liver. Fat will cause your liver to shut down, scar up, and ultimately die. Now, there are three main types of fat, two of which are bad for your health and especially bad for your liver. Trans Fats are the worst possible kind of fat. Trans fats are a type of laboratory-made fat that’s created when hydrogen is added to vegetable oil. It’s primarily used to give a food product a thicker consistency or a longer shelf life. The FDA has been forcing food companies to phase trans fats out of foods FOREVER! So avoiding this will be easier as time goes on! Next, we have Saturated Fats. Saturated fats are solid fats, and they’re not entirely bad. The government recommends that 10% or less of your daily calories should be coming from this type of fat. The problem is when people eat these fats in excess and fat begins to pile onto your liver, causing irreparable damage. Here’s a list of foods with tons of saturated fats to help you make the healthier choice!  Butter  Cake  Now onto the healthy fat! This is called Unsaturated Fat. This is the fat your body absorbs most easily and uses as the main building block for new cells. Unsaturated fats are typically in a liquid form at room temperature and are most commonly found in foods like… Sausages  Cooking Oil  Avocados  Most Nuts  Baked Goods  Bacon What Will Harm Your Liver? – Over The Counter Meds, Especially This Common One!

  6. Over-the-counter meds put huge stress on your liver. Why? Because your liver needs to work even harder to clean this over-the-counter medicine out of your bloodstream because your liver sees it as a toxin. Acetaminophen is one of the worst offenders. Acetaminophen is also known as Tylenol or Paracetamol. Why is it one of the worst? Well in your body, Acetaminophen metabolizes into a substance called NAPQI (N-acetyl-p-benzoquinone imine. That’s a mouthful). NAPQI overwhelms your liver’s ability to clean toxins out of your bloodstream particularly well. This causes toxins to sit in your liver as your liver takes time to catch back up. Taken in high doses, Acetaminophen can cause irreversible damage and scarring to your liver. So if you’re sick, follow the recommended dosages, or better yet, find a natural alternative! Now you know some of the most destructive things for your liver! Step one to having a healthy liver and leading a healthy life is avoiding these destructive things! So let’s get to the good stuff. We really did save the best for last. Let’s cover what things you can do to make sure your liver is staying in incredible shape! Read More : Does Pine Pollen Really Increase Testosterone? Along with these antioxidants we’ve included enzymes like glutathione peroxidase, reductase, lipoic acid, and superoxide dismutase (SOD). These are all enzymes that specialize in RESTORING antioxidants.
