Short background and objectives • Special issue in CB-07-01b task – 2007 work plan • Issue of increasing importance in int’l education provision, also in EO and Geo-information GI sectors, professional orgs. (ISPRS, ABET, etc.) • Drivers: globalization, ICT developments, e-learning, global environmental issues,.. • In EU e.g. Bologna process (in higher edu) • Practical example: decentralized joint education delivery process (e.g. in Africa by ITC & partner institutions).. Course accreditation, certification of diploma?? • ..

Milestones to date • Executive Seminar ITC GEO ISPRS Nov,1-2 2007, ITC, Enschede, NL • Goal / aim: • Bring together education providers, experts in recognition (accreditation), governance (quality assurance), professionals (GI sector) • Jointly analyze problems, formulate potential solutions and set out pathway to initiate process -> internationally acceptable solutions
