  2. Dim– Gradually change the intensity of light… “Dim up”is the instruction to gradually increase the light “Dim out” is the instruction to gradually decrease the light Blackout – All stage lights go out simultaneously

  3. Effect – An impression produced technically which supports the illusion provided by the actors. Examples include: lighting effects, music to help establish the mood of the scene and sound effects. Effects are written in a script as “cues”. The stage manager calls all of the cues for the show.
