INTASC Standard, Description and Rationale Standard #3 Learning Environments The teacher works with others to create environments that support individual and collaborative learning, and that encourage positive social interaction, active engagement in learning, and self-motivation Brief Description: For this assignment, I learned how teachers view helping students become stronger through their class environment. Rationale: To document my understanding of Standard #3, I used interviewing teachers to find out how they set up their class rooms and interact with students to make a positive learning environment.

Background • Coached soccer and loved kids • Roommate was teacher • Teaching for 29 years • Always have taught middle school • Teaches 7th grade math now • Original plan was prison guard • Tried several majors • roommate was ineducation • Teaching for 14 years • Taught 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th and 6th • Teaches 6th grade math now Richard Flis Denise Schnarr

  8. Conclusion After interviewing both teachers, I was able to get a different insight on the teaching profession. I already knew its about the kids but you have to make sure every child knows that.
