  2. Series of photo: Fragility of iPhones

  3. The Beauty of iPhone • “I feel that I am holding its designer Jonathan Ive's personal prototype, hand-machined as a proof-of-concept model. Ive is surely one of the most influential and gifted designers Britain has ever produced and the iPhone 4 may well be his masterpiece.” (Stephen, 2010) • “Beauty is in the hand of the (iPhone 5’s) beholder.” (Matthew Miller, 2012) Resource: http://www.theguardian.com/technology/2010/jun/23/iphone4-first-review-stephen-fry

  4. Counter-argument • LextonSnol (2013), a PC advisor working for TechAdvisor website, indicates that iPhone will be broken in an average time period of ten weeks  less than 3 months. • Apparently, when you buy a new phone, you’re supposed to immediately bury it with rubber bumpers, skins, and covers, and as a consequence, destroying the original aesthetics and design intent of the phone. (Otto, 2010)

  5. The Trend • Delicate and beautiful • During the meantime… • FRAGILE and CRISPY

  13. My motivation • Add value to the breaking iPhone • As a strong reminder to hi-tech companies, esp. Apple: Find a balance between the beauty of the product and its durability, control the quality of the screen.
