Letter writing -contents • The first paragraph: introduce the subject matter and either state or imply your purpose in writing • The body:develop clearly and logically the argument and facts of the case (each argument in a separate paragraph) • The final paragraph: spell out what you would like to see happen Vida Vidmar

  6. Formality • Adopt a letter layout that is clear and consistent • Avoid colloquial expressions, Jargon, slang • Don’t be too emotional • Don’t use passive voice if not absolutely necessary • Be clear and to the point but not too blunt Vida Vidmar
