  1. 20080917 SVD meeting material Toru Tsuboyama (KEK)

  2. Belle End cap close • 4 Sept. 2008 Tsuboyama and Hyun put SVD cables to the CDC end plate. • 5 Sept. Tsuboyama, Hara, Hyun, Nakahama started up the SVD DAQ system. It took from 13:30 to 22:00 to finish all processes. A configuration file was overwritten by some another program. We finally took a svd local run and svd was found to be healthy. • 8 Sept. End cap detector was closed. • 9 Sept. Evening Nakahama took a local run to confirm SVD is still OK. • The KEKB operation will start 14 October.

  3. APV25 purchase • On 9 Sept, I visited Imperial College, G. Hall. • In the discussion I knew the price is 28 SF per chip, which is 10 times cheaper than I expected. • They are glad to provide chips because M. Frield can take care of necessary technology and we do not have to bother them. • This morning, I discussed with Ushiroda and we decided to buy all 5,000 chips. He allocated additional money to SVD. • Now 1 SF is about 100 yen. 5,000 chips will cost ~15,000,000 yen. • I should discuss with ATLAS or other people how to transfer money to CERN.

  4. Beam test • We would like to demonstrate “Micron sensor”- APV25(chip on sensor?) – Vienna repeater – Vienna FADC – Krakow Finnese • I have booked a beam time from 26 Nov. to 11 Dec. • We can shift the schedule one week earlier if we ask now. • I like to know your convenience.

  5. Comments on IP chamber and DEPFET meeting • In the IR meeting, we are discussing to start from R=15 mm beam pipe. When the design work settles, narrower or larger beam pipe will be considered. • Tsuboyama reported in the DEPFET meeting on this situation. • Henryk: How about starting with R=10 mm and, if radiation is too high, put sensors at larger radius?
