  3. TA Hours • This week’s lab is a pipsqueak week. You will have those two hours to work on your projects, and priority on the machines during your lab period • If you come during other labs or TA hours, you will have TA help but may have to fight for machines • Extra Saturday hours may be scheduled • Regular TA hours: See website • Regular Lab hours: See website

  4. Hardware • MAKE IT WORK! Functionality is important. • Make it look good. Make it presentable to a customer: Shiny, no scratches or dents. • Manufactured according to drawings in final drawing package: Update drawing package if you made things differently. • Meet your tolerances. You specify your tolerances in your drawing package. As the manufacturer, you should meet them.

  5. Report • Giant Lab Report. You haven’t had to write lab reports for the pipsqueak days in lab, this is to fill in those gaps. Use the same sections from the lab report template and flesh them out to be a good report of all you have done on this project. • Tell about improvements you would make, the design process, changes you made from the original drawing package, mistakes made, what you learned, etc. • Make it professional! Read through it after you have written it, check your grammar and spelling.

  6. Drawing Package • Look at the rubric! Make sure you have everything you should have. Look at the comments we made, we tried hard to give you good feedback. • Ask questions! If you don’t understand our comments or the rubric ask us! • Part Numbers always go with the Part Names • Make sure you update drawings and processes to match what you actually did. (And Tolerances) • Make it look nice! We didn’t take much off for professionalism on the first run, but since your content should be spot on, we will look closer at format.

  7. Presentation • You will present to the other members of your lab and the TA’s. (Meet in our same location for roll and we will go to the room in which we will present) • You will have a grading sheet to grade each other’s presentations (required). • Presentation should be 8 min. with 2 min. of questions allowed at the end. • Should cover the same material as your report and also demo the functionality of your engine (we will provide a compressed air tank). • All members of your group should be well-groomed: not necessarily ties, but not covered in grease and sweat. • Each member should participate in the presentation.

  8. Questions? • Any questions about the information covered can be emailed to the Lead TA. • If it is super important you can call or text the Lead TA (see website for contact info).
