  1. Bellwork:If the inside of a cell is 95% water, what is the concentration of water in an isotonic, hypertonic, or hypotonic solution?

  2. Happy Monday!Science Fact of the Day:The female Tarantula Hawk wasp paralyzes a large spider with her sting. She then lays her eggs on the motionless body so that her developing young have a fresh supply of spider meat to feed on.

  3. CO: I will investigate cellular processes like homeostasis and molecule transport.LO: I will watch videos on facilitated diffusion and active transport. I will practice vocabulary words.

  4. 1. Facilitated diffusion:when protein channels help move molecules across the membrane.- does not require energy.

  5. 2. Active transport :cells move materials against a concentration gradient. - does require energy - carried out by transport proteins in membrane.

  6. 3. Endocytosis: taking material into the cell using part of the cell membrane.

  7. 4. Exocytosis: forces materials out of a cell when a vesicle fuses with the cell membrane.

  8. Model your words… • Using your vocabulary list model as many words as you can with play-doh • DON’T mush the colors together. 

  9. In no less than 30 words, summarize what you learned today about moving materials across the cell membrane. You must include the following words in your summary:facilitated diffusionactive transportendocytosisexocytosis
