  2. You have been given a slice of chocolate cake!

  3. Look At the Cake.Describe what it is like.

  4. The cake is chocolate with icing on the top

  5. Now lets Describe it in detail.

  6. The cake is made up of 2 round sections that are connected together with thick chocolate icing. Chocolate icing also covers the sides.

  7. Have some more. Now fullydescribe the cake by adding more specific details.

  8. The dark brown cake is round with a circumference of about 20cm. It is about 6cm high divided into 2 sections filled with about 1cm of chocolate icing. It is covered in chocolate icing of about 2cm thick and looks delicious.

  9. .Now explain why you think the cake is as it is.

  10. The cake looks delicious because it has been well made

  11. .Lets go further. Can you explain, in detail why you think the cake is as it is.

  12. The cake looks delicious because the baker read the recipe carefully, used quality ingredients and followed the instructions perfectly.

  13. What would you suggest could make the cake better?Justify why you would do this.

  14. I would add strawberries to the top of it. I chose this because it would add colour and interest to the cake and make it more attractive. (Demonstrate why the chosen course of action is best.)

  15. You are now offered some chocolate brownie!

  16. Compare and contrast the cake and the brownie.

  17. Both the cake and the brownie are baked and chocolate- flavoured. The cake is of a softer consistency, is higher and iced. The brownie is flatter with a hard top and a gooey centre. (Compare = similarities; Contrast = differences)

  18. Evaluate how this cake compares to other cakes you have tasted?

  19. This cake rates highly in all the cakes I have tasted recently. The other cakes I have tasted lacked flavour or were overcooked while this cake was perfect. (Says why it is significant.)
