  14. DAN FRICKAmerican Studies Dan Frick and a group of students from his AMS class ("As Seen on TV") had their panel accepted to the American Culture Association/Popular Culture Association national conference in Chicago.

  15. ALISON KIBLER American Studies Alison’s book, The Devil's Melting Pot: Irish, Jewish and African American Protests against Racial Ridicule, 1890-1930 was accepted by the board of UNC Press.

  16. DAVID KIERAN American Studies The American Studies Association recently appointed David to an "International Delegation on War and Peace." The Delegation, which includes past-ASA president Matthew Jacobson (Yale), will attend the European American Studies Association meeting, at The Hague.

  17. DAVID SCHUYLERAmerican Studies David Schuyler participated in a scholarly forum published in The Hudson River Valley Review 29.2 (Spring 2013). The forum is "The Nineteenth-Century Hudson River and National Identity." His essay, "The American Revolution Remembered in the Hudson River Valley" will soon appear in the Hudson River Valley Review 30 (Fall 2013): 3-17. 

  18. LOUISE STEVENSONAmerican Studies Louise Stevenson was invited to submit an essay to the exhibit honoring the sesquicentennial of the Gettysburg Address to the Lincoln Library. Her 272-word essay (matching the length of the address) on the "global meaning of the Gettysburg address" is currently on display in the museum.
