  1. Boxes and Dongle: Everything You need to Know Boxes and Dongle: It is difficult to imagine a repair shop without welding or measuring equipment. However, it is always the most important software repair tool for unlocking, repairing and refreshing. These tools allow you to unlock or re-enable bricked devices. BOX What is a box? Box is a device that allows you to repair software faulty phones. The box is a metal unit with power and indicators for reading / writing data and the following ports: • USB IN-connected to a PC; • SERVICE / SERVICE CABLE-connect the device through COM interface; • USB HUB-Connect other USB devices (eg, flash drive, dongle), but not for phone repair procedures; • JTAG-Connect the device through the JTAG interface.

Smart cards prevent unauthorized use of the software and, if necessary, identify the device on the software developer's server. The COM (UART) port allows you to connect the phone directly to the box. How to connect the box correctly? When you buy a new box, you usually find the box itself and a set of cables in the box. All boxes are connected to the PC using a USB A-B cable (see figure below). This is an ordinary cable that ordinary people use almost every day when they connect scanners, printers, or any other office equipment. One end of the cable (standard B) is connected to the port most commonly labeled USB IN, and the other end (standard A) is directly connected to the USB port of the PC (unless connected using a JTAG or EMMC interface). important! Do not connect the box with a USB hub and extension cable. As a result, the box may not work properly, or the PC may not recognize the connected device at all. Also, it is recommended that you do not use a USB 3.0 port. Usually, the phone is usually connected directly to the box through the COM (UART) port.
