  5. 1.Formation and operationalisation of WSHGs Federation/ Institutional arrangements • 314 Supervisors have been designated as Mission Shakti Co-ordinators to look after the programme at Block level • Orientation training for Mission Shakti Co-ordinators for all 314 Blocks ( Last batch in progress). • Training of federation office bearers of 728 nos. (2 per block) completed for 314 blocks/ 2nd round in progress. • TOT for financial literacy – 5 batches completed ( Balance 10 batches will be completed shortly) • BDSP ( 6 months course): Training started in 7 districts for 443 BDSP (Sakti Sahayika). Training for 10 more districts will be start within one month. Training for rest districts will be started by the end of December-2008, Contd…

Formation and opeationalisation of WSHGs Federation Contd… • Manual for financial literacy/ manual for federation management/ Operational manual prepared. • Identification of district level technical consultant for implementation of capacity building(5 districts). • Release of 50.00 Crores with guidelines to provide Micro Credit Support to SHGs • Rs.14.00 crores under SGSY has been sanctioned for strengthening of SHG/Federation. Rs.2.00 for ULBs earmarked. • 83 Training-cum-Production Centre (TPC) @ Rs.15.00 lakhs has been sanctioned. Model Plan circulated. construction is under progress.

  8. District Level • District Management cell formed • Workshop of Mission Shakti organized, Video conferencing held for dissemination of concept. • Observation of ‘SHG month’ during September, 2008 ( Decision of SLBC). • Universalization of SHG movement. (NGO may be opted)

  10. Block Level • 306 nos. of Block level federation registered . Registration of pending federation are under process. • Computer for each federation to be provided at district level ( Out of SGSY). • Block level functionaries to assist federation is placed in 5 districts (Dhenkanal, Koraput, Nuapada, Rayagada and Sambalpur), rest will be done soon ( out sourcing). • Streamlining the activities through meetings and strengthening through monitoring.

Issues • Registration of Mission Shakti as society. • Strengthening of State level Institutions/ accommodation. • Completion of 83 Training-cum-Production Centre. • Providing space to federation at block level/ construction of more Training-cum-Production Centre (TPC)/ TSC. • Release of fund by Panchayati Raj Department. • Preferential treatment for SHGs in leasing the GP tank for pisciculture and preference for PDS to be considered. • Space for MVSN may be provided at Toshali Plaza. • NABARD may considered to provide seed money and help Mission Shakti in evaluation process.

  15. 2.Organisation of District Level Conventions • Organized in Rayagada & Mayurbhanj • Rest to be organised in November & December,2008 3.Distribution of Micro credit support to WSHGs • Release of budgetary allocation for WSHGs. • Funds released to districts, disbursement will be completed by November,2008.

  16. 4.Achievement of Mission Shakti, impact and coverage • Brochure on Mission Shakti printed & circulated. • TV programmes/Advertisement on Mission Shakti • AIR programmes based on SHGs • Evaluation of Mission Shakti/ impact- A study • Participation in WSHGs member in National Level Conference on federation.

  17. 5.Involvement of WSHGs in MDM /PDS /Paddy procurement and total sanitation campaign (TSC) • As reflected in monitoring indicator. • State level Conference of DSWOs & CDPOs organised. Strategies of involving ICDS functionaries communicated. • Funds released to districts, for management cost.

  18. 6.WSHGs to work towards reduction IMR/ MMR/ malnutrition/ improvement of girls education • In collaboration with NHRM 6 districts are selected on pilot basis. They are Angul, Gajapati, Sundargarh, Mayurbhanj, Bolangir and Nuapada • 6000 WSHGs will be trained. • 90 ToTs are trained from MNGOs/ ICDS Supervisors. • Training module prepared. • Budgetary allocation made.
