  2. The Guns of Desperado You Might Find on GunBroker.com While El Mariachi might be the first film in Robert Rodriguez’s Mexico Trilogy, Desperado, starring Antonio Banderas and Salma Hayek, is arguably more well-known. In it, Banderas’ El Mariachi seeks revenge on the drug lord that killed his lover. If you are looking for guns online at GunBroker.com, you can look for some of the guns in this movie, potentially storing them in a guitar case like El Mariachi. Ruger KP90 Ruger KP90s are the handgun of choice for El Mariachi throughout the movie. Tito Larriva’s Tavo also uses KP90s, likely the same ones Banderas used. Interestingly, the gun Banderas used was also Arnold Schwarzenegger’s in True Lies. Colt Mark IV Series 80 Drug lord Bucho, played by Joaquim de Almeida, primarily uses a Colt Mark IV Series 80 in the film. The stainless steel M1911A1-type handgun was likely chambered in 9mm based on the muzzle size. Beretta 92FS Inox The pony-tailed gangster uses a Beretta 92FS Inox with ivory grips to hold up El Mariachi in the bar scene. The Beretta 9mm is also seen being wielded by random thugs throughout the movie. Beretta 93R Bucho’s taste in handguns tends to be exotic, and the Beretta 93R is an example of this. It is a very rare version of the classic Beretta 92 capable of 3-round burst fire. It is used against both Danny Trejo’s Navajas and El Mariachi in the movie.

  3. Desert Eagle Mark XIX Tavo dual-wields a black Desert Eagle Mark XIX with the KP90 as El Mariachi flees the shootout at the bar. Bucho also later uses the Desert Eagle, which Right Hand (Carlos Gomez) wields against his own men. It was the first time a Mark XIX chambered in 50 AE was used in a movie, as it was brand new in 1995. Smith & Wesson Model 19 Interestingly, the bartender, played by Cheech Marin, uses a suppressed S&W Model 19. In reality, however, very few revolvers can be suppressed due to the gap between the cylinder and the barrel. The Russian Nagant M1895 was built for it. The S&W Model 19 was not. Rossi Overland Sawed-Off Shotgun Another main weapon of El Mariachi is the Rossie Overland Sawed-Off Shotgun. He fires six rounds through it through movie magic, despite only having two barrels and not reloading. Caroline (Salma Hayek) uses it during the attack on the bookstore. Remington 870 One of the most iconic Remington shotguns, the 870, is also used by some thugs in the movie. A sawn-down pistol grip, extended magazine tube, and heat shield have been added to the shotgun. One even has a bayonet mount. MAC-10 While the MAC-10 was a popular firearm for Bucho’s thugs, the more interesting use is the basis of the guitar case machine guns used by Campa (Carlos Gallardo, the original El Mariachi). The sound effects, however, were that of an M134 minigun. Search for the guns of Desperado from user listings at https://www.gunbroker.com/ Original Source: https://bit.ly/3F4vBbD
