  4. FRAME Programs & Codes • Staffing Code 320 = Executive , Managerial and Supervisory • Staffing Code 330 = Instructional – Teaching

  5. FRAME Program & Codes • Staffing Code 350 = Teacher Aides and other • Staffing Code 380 = Clinicians

  6. FRAME Professional & Staff Development = • Activities that contribute to professional or occupational growth of instructional staff • Includes: workshops, conferences, service training demonstrations and school visits Source: FRAME Manual

  7. FRAME Timelines • Local association input to the school division by December • Division submits FRAME Final Budget to Province in April • Budget takes effect July 1st of every year

  8. FRAME Expenditures Where the money can be spent: • Salaries • Services • Supplies • Materials

  9. TEACHER VOICE • Are you satisfied with the PD decision-making process in your school division or district? • Is your teacher association actively involved in decisions about PD? • Are you aware of teacher PD needs within your local association?

  10. TEACHER VOICE Structures: • PD article in the collective agreement • Letter of agreement pertaining to PD • Joint PD committee (teachers/employer) • Policy – written or unwritten – regulates how dollars will be spent • School based decision making

  11. EQUITY The principle of ‘equity among teachers’ is based on the belief that all teachers should have an equal opportunity to do their job in an effective manner.
