  2. They Are All Lefties! • Write a note to someone in the class using your left hand. (If you are left-handed, write a note using your right hand.) Deliver your note when you are done writing. Then, give yourself a left-handed pat on the back if your classmate can actually read it!

We will review your answers and share sentences. • Worksheets, sentences, crossword puzzle can be completed at home or in class, if you have time. Please complete all by hand.   9. Epigraph, n. • a saying written on a building or statue • a quotation at the beginning of a book, chapter, etc. • Epigraphs are like little appetizers to the great entrée of a story. They illuminate important aspects of the story, and they get us headed in the right direction.

  16. Grammy, n. • one of a group of  statuettes awarded  annually  by the National Academy of Recording  Arts and Sciences for outstanding achievement in various categories in the recording industry.

  17. Monogram, n. • a design consisting of two or more alphabetic letters combined or interlaced,  commonly one's initials, often printed on stationery, embroidered on clothing, etc.

  18. Calligraphy, n. • art of beautiful handwriting • fancy penmanship,  especially highly  decorative handwriting • calligrapher,  calligraphist, noun

  19. Choreography, n. • the art of composing ballets  and other dances and planning and arranging the movements, steps, and patterns of dancers. • choreographer, noun

Homograph, n. • a word written the same way as another word but with a different pronunciation and having a different meaning.(sewer, sewer) • Homophone: words pronounced the same but may or may not be spelled the same, and has a different meaning. (carat, carrot) • If they are spelled the same, they are called homonyms. (rose, rose)

Hologram, n. • a three-dimensional image of a whole object made by holography • also called holograph • A method of producing a  three-dimensional image of an object by recording on a photographic plate or film the pattern of interference formed by a  split laser beam and then illuminating the pattern  either with a laser or with  ordinary light.
