  2. New Allowable Foods Fruits & Vegetables (Women and Children): Fresh • Any variety, excluding white potatoes & herbs/spices Frozen • Any variety, excluding white potatoes • Single ingredient • Vegetables without added sugars, fats, oils, sauces or breading • Fruit without added sugars

  3. Fruits and Vegetables (Cash Value) • $6 for children • $8 for pregnant women partially breastfeeding women postpartum women • $10 for fully breastfeeding women • $15 for fully breastfeeding multiple infants pregnant with multiple fetuses partially breastfeeding multiple infants

New Allowable Foods Infant Foods: Fruits and Vegetables • 4 oz container size • (32 jars/month) • (64 jars/month for totally breastfed) • 6 months of age • Single ingredient (no combinations) Meats (only for totally breastfed infants) • 2.5 oz container size (31 jars/month) • 6 months of age • Single ingredient (no combinations)

  5. New Allowable Foods Whole Grains: • Primary ingredient by weight must be whole grain • 1 lb packages • 1.5 lb package bread (limited issuance – breastfeed multiples) Authorized Varieties • Whole Wheat/Whole Grain Bread • Brown Rice • Oatmeal • Whole Wheat/Corn Tortillas

  6. New Allowable Foods Canned Fish: • For fully breastfeeding women • 5 or 6 oz can • Packed in water Authorized Varieties • Chunk light tuna • Salmon (with or without skin & bones)

  7. New Allowable Foods Soy Milk • Must meet protein and vitamin/mineral requirements • Prescription is required for children Tofu • Calcium-set • Prescription is required for children

  8. Changes To Current Foods Milk : • Lowfat milk for women and children age 2 and over • Whole milk may be provided to women and children 2 and over with a prescription and medical reason • Approximately one gallon reduction per month for women and children

  9. Changes To Current Foods Juice: • Infants: Juice is eliminated • Children: decrease from 288 to 128 oz • Postpartum women: decrease from 192 to 96 oz • Pregnant and partially breastfeeding women: decrease from 288 to 144 oz • Fully breastfeeding women: decrease from 336 to 144 oz

Changes to Current Foods Eggs: • Reduction – 1 dozen for all participants except fully breastfeeding women Cheese: • Reduction – 1 lb for all participants except fully breastfeeding women Formula: • Reduction – Inf. receives 16 fewer cans/year (powder)* Inf. receives 36 fewer cans/year (conc.)* Infant Cereals: Delayed from 4 months to 6 months *Similac Advance used in calculation
