  3. WHIMS To ensure that all work is conducted safely, before any job of work can start a Job Safety Plan must the produced. WHIMS is used to do this.

  4. A JOB SAFETY PLAN • Is a worksite document. • Lists the Activities and Hazards involved in performing work. • Lists the Control Measures required to ensure the work is carried out safely. • Carries signatures of Applicant and Responsible Supervisor.

  5. JOB SAFETY PLANS • JSPs can be copied, either within the User’s Area or from another Area. • WHIMS has a library of generic or ‘Reference’ Job Safety Plans (JSPs) that can be used as the basis for new JSPs. • Only JSPs within the User’s own Area can be edited.

  6. JOB SAFETY PLANS A Job Safety Plan (JSP) is produced by: • Selecting ACTIVITIES (the type of work to be done) • Creating the Steps, if applicable • Reviewing the HAZARDS (the events that could happen) • Reviewing the CONTROLS (measures taken to control the Hazards)

  16. JOB STEPS • Steps are new to Pharos Ver. 2.1. • They are optional. • Steps are used to break a large, complex job down into smaller jobs. • A Job Safety Plan is produced for each Step. • The work for each Step is carried out independent of the other Steps.

  18. JOB STEPS First, do Step 1. STEP 1 Steps 2 and 3 can be done at the same time. STEP 3 Or Steps 2 and 4 could be done at the same time, but Step 4 must always follow 3. STEP 2 STEP 4 Finally, Step 5 is done after Steps 2 and 4 are complete. STEP 5
