Definitions • Deity- a god or goddess; divine character or nature of a supreme being; the estate or rank of a god; a person or thing revered as a god or goddess • Olympian- pertaining to Mount Olympus or dwelling thereon, as the gods of classical Greece; of, resembling, characteristic of, or suitable to the gods of Olympus; a deity • Attribute- something attributed as belonging to a person, thing, group, etc.; a quality, character, characteristic, or property; something used as a symbol of a particular person, office, or status; to consider as a quality or characteristic of the person, thing, group

  2. Definitions • Sphere of Influence- any area in which one nation wields dominant power over another or others. • Provenance- a place of origin, especially that of a work of art or archaeological specimen

  4. Olympian Parents • The parents of Zeus, Hades, Poseidon, Hestia, and Hera were Cronus and Rhea. Cronus always swallowed any child presented to him by Rhea because he feared they would grow up and defeat him like the prophecy foretold. However, one day Rhea hid the child she was supposed to present him with and instead gave him a rock and he swalloed it. This meant that Zeus was safe and could defeat his father later on and free his brothers and sisters.
