  2. Monthly News Letter - October 2012 Visit of distinguished Guests On 8th October, 2012, Mr. Akbar Ismail, CEO, along with a four member delegation visited the school and met staff and students in various classes. He mingled with them and made photographs. He was very appreciative of the fact that despite difficult conditions, teachers and staff of the school are discharging their responsibilities with a high level of determination and are following their mission. Attendance Certificates Distribution Event To encourage the children and their parents, an event pertaining to 100% achievement of attendance was held in the month of September 2012. Attendance Certificates were distributed to the students who achieved 100% attendance in their respective classes. This humble effort helped improve the morale of these students. This activity not only celebrated the Achievers but also encouraged those students who could not receive the awards this time but seem to be spirited to achieve this in the coming months. Half Yearly Examination This year, according to the schedule, half yearly examinations were held in the month of October. All the enrolled students appeared in these examinations. It was observed that all the students were comfortable and seemed well prepared which shows that their teachers have really worked hard during the first half of the academic session. These examinations lasted till October 23rd, 2012 Internal Review Meeting An Internal Review Meeting (IRM) was held on 15th October, 2012 at the School. The agenda had two parts. 3. Monthly News Letter - October 2012 In the second part of this IRM, a Safety Awareness session was conducted. This was conceived due to simultaneous unfortunate happenings in the country in the recent days. A few examples included the crash if an airliner in Islamabad, fire incidents which took place in Karachi and Lahore, malfunction of generator in a children ward in a Larkana hospital killing many children in the event. Resultantly, a huge loss of life incurred in these heart wrenching incidents. It was thought that instead of being proactive, people are generally reactive and prone to losses. It is understood that the slogan of Safety First carries huge importance. With this back ground, the probable eventualities with respect to safety in the school were discussed and the following measures were suggested and agreed upon ; • A proper Safety Day needs to be held every periodically to create awareness in the staff and students. • A proper drill should be organized to evacuate from the school in a disciplined manner in case of any eventuality. • Availability of Fire Extinguishers and Sand Buckets be ensured to increase Safety related measures. • By the time of writing of these lines, the project was approved and the necessary work was already underway. Shaheed-e-Millat Day Khan Liaquat Ali Khan was the first Prime Minister of Pakistan who rendered enormous services in the establishment of Pakistan. He made personal sacrifices during the struggle for independence and in the early formative days of the government. He was assassinated on 16th October 1948. Mrs. Uzma delivered a speech to the students on the day of his Shahadat (Assassination) and paid tribute to Mr. Khan on his selfless devotion for the cause of independence and development of the newly emerged Muslim state, Pakistan.
