Estado do Amazonas Área: 1.577.820,2 km² Mais de 20 mil km de vias navegáveis População: 3.332.330 hab. sendo 48 % vivendo em Manaus Densidade Demográfica: 2,06 hab./km² (2006) Economia: Zona Franca de Manaus, criada em 1967, serviços, turismo ecológico em franco desenvolvimento. Alguns pólos de mineração, agricultura, pecuária e extração racional de madeira vem se desenvolvendo.

  4. ESTADO DO AMAZONAS • CERCA DE 3 MILHÕES DE HECTARES DESMATADOS = OPORTUNIDADE PARA PLANTIO CONSORCIADO (AÇAÍ, DENDÊ, PUPUNHA, CUPUAÇU E OUTRAS ESPÉCIES ECONÔMICAS) • PRIORIZAR PLANTIO EM ÁREAS DE ROÇA • PROGRAMAS NA ÁREA DE CRÉDITO DE CARBONO

  5. UNIDADES DE CONSERVAÇÃO - UCs NO AMAZONAS • DO TOTAL DE APROXIMADAMENTE 18 MILHÕES DE HECTARES DE UCs, 2.312.101 HA SÃO DE PROTEÇÃO INTEGRAL E, O RESTANTE, UCs DE USO SUSTENTÁVEL.

Política de Estímulo à Produção Sustentável • Macrozoneamento Ecológico-Econômico no Estado. • Manejo Florestal Sustentável (madeireiro e não-madeireiro) – apoio, incentivo e orientação em UCs de Uso Sustentável, Assentamentos e demais áreas privadas. • Sistemas Agroflorestais – apoio, incentivo e orientação em áreas privadas, em áreas degradadas, para recuperação de reservas legais e áreas de preservação permanente. • Sistemas Silvipastoris – apoio, incentivo e orientação em áreas privadas. • Reflorestamentos – apoio, incentivo e orientação em áreas públicas (espécies nativas ) e privadas (nativas e adaptadas - SAFs)
