Course Description • This course is designed to help you: • Learn about primary teachers and their role in the primary education. • Learn about : curriculum, method of teaching , leaning style. • Learn about the way children learn and the natural stages of child development within the context of a primary school classroom. • Lean about effective classroom management and organization. • Learn about how teacher can Improve communication skills in the primary classroom. • Learn about different issues and topics related to primary education: student, teachers, and curriculum.   3. Course Design • This course depends on reading the course materials. Readings about different topics and issues related to teacher education. • Lecturing method will be utilize when introducing new concepts, or topics, • It depends on discussion and reflections. Dr. Reem Aldegether

Course content • Primary school teacher: definition, aspects, role. • Teacher role and responsibility; and their role within the school. • Classroom environments • Teaching methods and learning styles • Classroom management • Genderand learning • Thinking skills • Differentiation of curriculum. • Inclusion Dr. Reem Aldegether

  5. Course Assessment -Attendance and Participation: 10% :, -Course work: discussion, quiz (5), -2 homework 5 points each -Group project 10 • Midterm Exam : 20 % : Essay questions, multiple choices, true false, and matching Questions; • Final exam : 50%

  6. Course Expectations • Cell phones should be turned off during the class. • Attendance is required. • Only official excuse for absence is accepted. • Respecting the scheduled time for the course. (Be on time). Students will not be allowed to enter the lecture after 15 minutes of the class time. • Participation and asking questions are expected in this class. • Respect to your instructor and your classmates is expected . • No makeup exam. • All assignments turned in late will be deducted 1 point for each day delay. • Work that show any sign of plagiarism (copying from the internet or from a classmate) will result in cancelling your work, and you will receive 0 for the assigned homework.
