  15. GSA’s COMMITMENT TO CONSTRUCTION MANAGEMENT • Before the founding of CMAA, GSA was a pioneer in the 1970s in applying agency CM • GSA’s recognition helped put the profession on the map • GSA made enormous contributions to the first SOP by sharing internal practices • GSA’s adoption of CCM

  16. WHERE DO CM’S FIT IN ? TRUSTED ADVISORS • Advice during design • Advice during procurement • Partnering with the A/E and Construction Contractor • Carefully tracking RFIs, PCOs and COs to maintain budget, scope and schedule • Provide inspections for safety, quality and design intent • Don’t lose sight of the end game – project complete (and for ARRA money paid out by 2015)
