Social Studies Our Interactive Notebook ( Marble copybook) A collection of graphic organizers and illustrations that will teach note taking techniques of the big ideas in the Social Studies Units. Note taking skills will be emphasized. Assessments • 5 Themes of Geography test • Middle East Midterm • Social Studies Final on Africa • Quizzes, Projects, Chapter tests, Notebook pages

Grading Philosophy 80% of the grade will reflect a student’s performance in common assessments and long-term assignments 20% of the grade will reflect a student’s performance on short-term assignments, notebooks, homework, and classwork Quarterly grading and report cards Midterm and final PowerSchool is updated weekly and is an important tool that allows both the student and parent to monitor student progress and performance

  4. LEARN HOW TO STUDY SOCIAL STUDIES! • Do I know how to study? • Learn test- taking tips! • Know what material is important to study! • Come to a lunch study group!

  5. How to Find Homework??!! • Check your child’s homework planner. Is it written down? We need to know. • School Wires- Middle School Website! • My Social Studies Page- You will see a day to day assignment list for the notebook including possible handouts!
