Introduction Synthetic turf is currently used in almost every type of field today, like lawns, sports fields and so on. This is because it is less expensive, more efficient and less time consuming when it comes to maintaining it. Here, we have discussed on how to install it.
Step 1 - Removing Existing Lawn You would have to remove any lawn, rocks, sand, etc. to a depth of 60mm or even 80-100mm if vehicles are going to be parked on the lawn turf. It would be better to use hand tools to remove the grass. Use a bobcat or dingo for large areas. After the area is dug out, use a rake and sand spreader to get relative level and installing any permanent borders.
Step 2 - Install the base After leveling the field, fill the road base. Rake and spread using a sand spreader. Once it is leveled, then wet and compact the place with a plate compactor to ensure you have a hard base. Screed the lawn for a perfect level and then wet and compact it to make it hard. You would need to do it again running your bar over the area taking out any compactor marks or filling in any dips.
Step 3 - Installing the synthetic turf Perth The fake grass has a grain and needs to be laid in a particular direction for it to look better. If the joins are required, you would need to ensure that at least two stitch lines are cut off from each side of the lawn to make an unnoticeable join. After all the join, you would need to cut all the edges using a Stanley knife.
Step 4 - -Sanding and Brushing it Spread white washed sand using 10-15 kgs of sand in every square meter. Then brush the dust using a broom.
