  7. Getting a good night sleep is clinically proven to positively influence sports, dieting, learning performance and overall health. Sleep is one of the most important issues to people, worldwide, and of all ages. IBM Wellness platform integrates state-of-the-art wellness sensors provided by EarlySense. EarlySense technology enables to track heart rate, respiration rate, body movement, and sleep activity. These sensors send data to the IBM Wellness platform for further management, analysis and consumption by different stake-holders: Person: Personal use of their historical data collected from sensors, including trends Healthcare provider: Routing on demand “high risk” cases for further monitoring by appropriate health professionals Research: Statistics view to monitor the overall status of persons, while ensuring the complete privacy of individual person's information Presented at IOD 2013, HIMSS 2014 and CeBIT 2014 Sleep Well - Live Well

IBM Wellness platform is being leveraged by a European Consortium in the DAPHNE project (2013-2016) DAPHNE is focused on reducing sedentariness and unhealthy habits, based on data-as-a-service and personalized services DAPHNE aims to deliver personalized guidance services for lifestyle management to the citizen/patient by means of: advanced sensors and mobile phones to acquire and store data on lifestyle aspects, behavior and surrounding environment individual models to monitor their health and fitness status intelligent data processing for the recognition of behavioral trends specific services for personalized guidance on healthy lifestyle and disease prevention.   11. EarlySense, founded in 2004 has US headquarters in MA and R&D in Israel. EarlySense has developed a unique sensing and signal processing technology that is able to track heart rate, respiration rate, body movement, and sleep activity by placing a sensor beneath the bed mattress. This technology covers a full market range: hospitals, home patient care and wellness applications for better sleep.
