  8. Group 1 activities • WP1 MAMA-NOW (Aldo Drago, ML) Identification and stock taking of the present capability in the Mediterranean with regard to infrastructures, activities, human resources, and funding capability in operational ocean forecasting. • WP5 MAMA-NET (Kostas Nittis, GR) Design the backbone for a regional internet-based ocean monitoring and forecasting information network in the Mediterranean.

  9. GROUP 2 activities • WP 3 MAMA-CAP/BUILD (Jacques Legrand, FR) (TECHNOLOGY) Address the technical knowhow related to the deployment, running and maintenance of an operational coastal observing system (SCIENCE) Address capacity building in NRT data management and modelling capabilities through a visiting scientists exchange scheme at specialised sites, providing training-on-the-job opportunities and hands-on experience. • WP7 MAMA-Aware (Francesco Saverio Civili, UNEP-MAP, GR) to promote the understanding of the benefits of ocean forecasting in the Mediterranean in the decision-making process for the management of the marine environment at national and regional level and get consensus and commitments at government level
