  1. Markel Reverse Osmosis Water Purifiers

  2. Markel Unit • We have now received the new model Reverse Osmosis water purifier we have had assembled for our companies. • We have been aware of many people living in rural areas, very worried about increasing Nitrate levels in their water, who are looking for an economical solution to that problem along with other agricultural chemicals.

  3. Installation • It has 5 passes so is designed for situations where extra preliminary filtering is an advantage. • In a rural situation where the in-coming water may be discoloured and dirty we offer a pleated washable 20 micron sediment filter in the first housing, followed by a 5 micron polypropylene sediment filter, then a carbon followed by the Reverse Osmosis membrane. • The last carbon filter is in the line between the reservoir tank and the drinking tap supplied with the unit.

  4. Nitrate Reduction • This is the most effective “point of use system” to safely reduce Nitrates, (which affect the transfer of oxygen in the haemoglobin and is most dangerous for pregnant women and bottle-fed babies) from water subjected to effluent spreading, often from piggeries, dairying operations, general farming, or meat processing operations in the catchment area. • Adults may experience adverse reactions to high Nitrate levels including intestinal problems. There have also been information in research papers it may be linked with up to15 different types of cancer.

  5. Filter Sequence • If a water supply was relatively clean but heavily chlorinated, an extra different grade carbon cartridge could be used. • The sequence would then be; 5-micron sediment followed by the two different grades of carbon then the RO membrane. This line-up of filters is best for longer and better chlorine removal throughout the purified water. • The RO membrane is made using American materials but unlike the American unit, this one has not been submitted to the American National Sanitation Board for testing and certification through their validation process.

  6. Price • At $635.00+GST it will provide the safeguard required for a very competitive price. • For locations with less than 40 psi in-coming water pressure (required for Nitrate reduction) we have the MARKEL Reverse Osmosis units with booster pumps attached for $786.00+GST – very economical.

  7. Markel Dimensions • The dimensions are: • Width 43 cm • Height 40 cm • Depth 13.5 cm • As a comparison the “Microline” TFC-4PLF model’s dimensions are: • W 30 cm • H 31 cm • D 11 cm • It is a lot more compact. This one also has the water quality monitor and air-gap tap etc.
