Emergency Supply Kit – Basic Supplies • Water and Food (can opener if needed) • Battery or hand crank radio and flashlight w/ extra batteries • First aid kit • Whistle • Dust mask, plastic sheeting, duct tape • Moist towelettes, garbage bags, plastic ties • Wrench or pliers • Local maps • Cell phone

Emergency Preparedness Emergency Supply Kit – Additional items • Prescription meds and glasses • Infant formula and diapers • Pet supplies • Personal documents • Cash/coins/traveler’s checks • Emergency reference material • Sleeping bag/blankets • Change of clothes • Chlorine bleach • Fire extinguisher • Matches • Others …

Emergency Preparedness Additional considerations: • Ask your child's school for a copy of their emergency plan for you to keep at home or work. • Commit a weekend to updating telephone numbers, buying emergency supplies and reviewing your emergency plan with everyone. • Once you have a plan, remember to follow it! • Remember to make a list of vets or veterinary hospitals in other cities where you might need to temporarily shelter your pet if evacuating the area. • Keep a smaller version of your emergency supply kit in your vehicle, in case you are commuting or traveling when an emergency happens.
