  2. It was A Time of. . . Mourning Near the cross of Jesus stood his mother, his mother's sister, Mary the wife of Clopas, and Mary Magdalene. When Jesus saw his mother there, and the disciple whom he loved standing nearby, he said to his mother, "Dear woman, here is your son," and to the disciple, "Here is your mother." From that time on, this disciple took her into his home (John 19:25-27).

  3. It was A Time of. . . Confusion In their fright the women bowed down with their faces to the ground, but the men said to them, "Why do you look for the living among the dead? He is not here; he has risen! Remember how he told you, while he was still with you in Galilee: 'The Son of Man must be delivered into the hands of sinful men, be crucified and on the third day be raised again' “ (Luke 24:5-7).

  4. It was A Time of. . . Understanding Then he opened their minds so they could understand the Scriptures. He told them, "This is what is written: The Christ will suffer and rise from the dead on the third day, and repentance and forgiveness of sins will be preached in his name to all nations, beginning at Jerusalem. You are witnesses of these things. . . Then they worshiped him and returned to Jerusalem with great joy (Luke 24:45-53)

  5. Why…Did Jesus Come To Earth? To show us our need for God. To give us an example of how to live. To prepare us for Heaven!
