VULOG In-Car Technology Solution dedicated to free-floating VULOG On-Board Computer (VUBOX) The latest version of our in-car technology has been designed to specifically operate free-floating services, and to comply with automotive standards (already OEM certified). High Definition GPS (Dead Reckoning) Allows ultra-high definition positioning in towns (less than 3 meters) and location of vehicles in underground garages. This feature is key for free-floating services, allowing reliable geofencing. RFID Reader Multi-standard to be used with any type of RFID cards (e.g. public transit cards). NFC compatible. Low consumption to offer instant access to the vehicles. 3 LEDs on the RFID reader to guide the user (e.g. green (available), orange (reserved), red (not in service)). Cards & Key Holder To ensure fuel card / parking card / car keys are in the glove compartment at the end of the trip. Hotline Kit (optional) Speaker, microphone and call button to communicate with the hotline. Speaker preequipped with voice messages guide the user (e.g. “You are now in the home zone,” “Please close the doors before ending your trip,” etc.). Home Zone LED (optional) To inform drivers if whether or not they are in the Home Zone. The reliability of in-car technology is key factor in ensuring the success of your carsharing service. Free-Floating SHOWCASE Communauto ‘Auto Mobile’ Project • OBJECTIVES • Client: Communauto, a carsharing leader in Canada, with over 1.200 vehicles (station-based service) • Project: Create a free-floating project to compete with Car2Go • Key points: Closely linked to Public Transports, 100% electric and hybrid cars, service combined with Round Trip • RESULTS • Project Launch: June 2013, free-floating service • Scalability: launched within 3 months and now has a total of 300 cars in Montreal and Quebec • Target: Expected to reach 1000 free-floating cars in 2018 • Successful competition with Car2Go Montreal • Specific adjustment: access with personal public transit cards, customization of the UX for specific weather conditions
